Don’t let a stubborn clog ruin your day. The experts can handle the repair and servicing of clogged toilets with ease. When licensed professionals are called for a slow drain or a clogged toilet, they can recommend different services depending on the type of stoppage and how they can clear the line. Sometimes these methods involve the use of a hand-operated drain snake. For more serious blockages, the plumbers can employ advanced tools such as powered drain lines or water jets to restore proper flow.

Mysterious water leaks from toilets:

Those mysterious puddles that form under the toilet tank usually signal the presence of a problem. Considering that there are many toilet components, we recommend that you leave it to our authorised professionals to precisely identify the leak. Toilet components such as a worn water supply line, a leaky shut-off valve or a broken wax ring can be the source of toilet water leaks. To avoid damage and water leaks, close the toilet shut-off valve until our licensed professionals can make a timely diagnosis and repair. When you turn to us for a leaky toilet repair, rest assured that you are in experienced hands. We prioritise professionalism and efficiency to ensure that your toilet problems are resolved quickly.

Repair and replacement of the toilet wax ring, flange and flush:

Have you ever had your toilet leak from the base? Or perhaps your toilet is rocking from side to side? These types of problems usually indicate a problem under the base of the toilet. Toilets are mounted, bolted and fixed to a flange that is connected to the flush lines. When the parts underneath the toilet start to fail, it is always a good idea to call in our authorised plumbers for an accurate diagnosis and proper repair. Quality is non-negotiable for us, which is why our staff includes licensed and certified plumbing professionals.

Call the Emergency Plumber in Oldham. We are 24 hours available. Never hesitate to contact us, 01613941085.

Water pressure is a topic that often divides families. For some, a light jet of water is satisfactory, while for others anything less than a torrent is too weak.
Regardless of preference, low water pressure can be a source of frustration, consuming more time and water for regular activities such as showering or watering plants. Let’s try to understand the main reasons for low water pressure and how to remedy it.

Why the water pressure is low

If the sink takes longer than usual to fill up or the shower feels like a drizzle, it is probably a water pressure problem. When the problem only affects one tap or appliance, the remedy often lies in that particular appliance or its connecting pipes.

However, if the problem affects the whole house, a more thorough investigation is necessary. Identifying the root cause is crucial to solving the problem. Here are some of the most common culprits:

Water quality

The quality of water supplied by the city or local district can sometimes affect the water pressure inside the home. If lines are full of debris or mineral deposits, it might be a good idea to have a licensed plumber come to your home to assess and provide a solution, such as installing a water purification system.

Leaks in pipes

Detecting leaks can be tricky. To ascertain whether the cause of the pressure drop is a leak, a licensed plumber can note the current reading on the water meter, make sure all taps are turned off, wait a while and then check the meter again. A discrepancy in readings may indicate a leak.

Aged pressure regulator

With a default setting of 45-60 psi, pressure regulators can deteriorate over time, affecting water flow. A faulty regulator should be replaced by the local utility district or a licensed plumber.

Mineral build-up

Homes with aged pipes, such as those made of galvanised iron, can be prone to clogging. This may be due to mineral deposits. These can corrode and clog pipes, impairing water flow. Call an authorised technician to assess your pipes. From there, they should be able to provide service options to correct the situation.

Position the sink on the countertop. If your sink has one, position the mounting ring over the drain opening and place the vessel on the ring. Other sink models may require a bead of silicone sealant to seal the sink to the countertop.

Insert the drain flange and end piece

Apply a bead of plumber’s putty along the underside of the drain flange to the drain fitting. If the drain comes with a foam or rubber gasket, place it on the underside of the drain flange.

Insert the end piece of the drain fitting down into the drain opening of the sink and through the cutout in the countertop. If the drain flange is labeled, position it so the label is vertical when looking into the sink from the front.

Note: It is best to install the drain before inserting it into the sink.

Attach the end piece

Apply pipe joint compound to the rubber gasket. From the bottom of the sink, slide the gasket around the drain end piece and all the way into the countertop cutout. Screw the friction ring onto the end piece, followed by the fastening nut. Hand tighten the mounting nut as far as it will go, then use needle nose pliers to tighten it a little tighter. Be careful not to over tighten as this can damage the sink. Double check the alignment of the drain fitting and labeling to make sure it is still straight. Wipe away any excess putty around the drain flange with a rag.

Complete the drain assembly

Connect the trap to the sink drain spigot with a slip nut and washer so that it is just snug. Install a siphon arm between the trap drain and the drain pipe in the wall or floor using slip nuts. The siphon arm must have a slight slope to the drain pipe. Depending on the configuration of the drain and the location of the branch opening, you may need to add an end piece extension and/or cut the trap arm to size with a hacksaw.

Check the fit of all drain parts and then tighten the sliding nuts further by hand or with tongue and groove pliers. Many slip nuts do not require pliers. Be careful not to overtighten the nuts.

Call the Emergency Plumber in Oldham. We are 24 hours in your service. Contact us whenever you want, 01613941085.

When either the flapper or the valve seat is worn, water seeps from the tank into the bowl, and the fill valve either turns on and off or runs constantly. Not only is this annoying, but it wastes water. The valve seat is not as likely to leak as the flapper, and if it does, it may be due to sediment or mineral buildup, or it may not be properly sealed.

Steps

Turn off the water and flush the toilet. Hold the handle down until no more water flows out of the tank, then sponge the rest into the bowl to empty the tank completely.

Unhook the flapper chain and unhook the flapper from the overflow tube. It may have rubber tabs that you can pull off the overflow tube. Some flapper plates are connected to the pipe by a ring. To remove such a flapper, you must push the ring to the top of the tube and lift it off.

Wipe the valve opening with a clean rag and check its condition. If it is plastic and feels rough, dry it off and sand the roughness with 150 grit wet/dry sandpaper.

Check the sealing ring around the outside of the valve seat. If it feels loose or looks damaged, replace it with a new one. You can buy replacement rings at specialty stores. The simplest rings are self-adhesive and will only stick if the tank is absolutely dry.

Remove the old gasket by grasping it and pulling it out. It is made of stretchy rubber that comes off when stretched.

Wipe the remaining water from the bottom of the tank with a rag, then dry the bottom of the tank with a hair dryer. Set the hair dryer to medium-hot and move it around so you don’t overheat any part of the tank.

Remove the paper from the bottom of the sealing ring and place the ring around the valve seat opening. Press down to secure the ring to the bottom of the tank.

Replace the valve and attach the chain connecting it to the flush handle. Try the handle to make sure it raises the flap all the way, and make sure the chain is not taut when the flap is down. Adjust the chain as needed.

Turn on the water and allow the tank to fill, then test the flush.

With a few simple instructions, any homeowner can give it a try.
Toilet tank repair is usually necessary when your toilet has a leak.

Detective work

The first step in toilet tank repair is to determine the exact nature of the problem. Try to open the toilet tank’s lid and observe a full flush. Can you identify any mechanisms that are catching on each other or on the side of the tank?

Call us 01613941085

Fine tune

If you can clearly see the problems, the next step in toilet tank repair is to adjust the length of the lever chain and check that the ball valve is not clogged with water. To do this, lift the ball valve out of the tank and shake it. If the ball valve is full of water, drain it and replace it if possible.

Replace components

If the leak persists, more detective work is needed before you can make further repairs to the toilet tank:

Shut off the water supply to the leaking toilet and mark the water level in the tank. Then let the toilet sit for about twenty minutes and note whether the water level has risen or fallen.

If the water level has dropped, the flush valve is defective. These are often called “toilet flapper valves” and are usually made of rubber. Therefore, they often break down due to the use of bleach and other cleaning chemicals “in the tank”. When you replace the toilet flapper, the toilet tank repair should be finished.
If the water level has not dropped, but the leaking toilet is still a problem, the refill valve is defective. Assuming you already checked the float for floatability in the first step of toilet tank repair, it needs to be replaced.

Before buying replacement parts or doing other invasive toilet tank repairs, make sure the items you buy are appropriate for the make and model of your toilet tank. The easiest way to do this is to take the old part to the store, but often this information is also printed on the inside of the tank itself.
